iPlacement
iPlacement is a student and employer portal designed to meet the needs of students that require work based experience as part of the qualifications process. iPlacement was developed for a genuine business to education requirement and is used on a daily basis by University of Derby students and local employers. iPlacement allows the employee to list the placement requirements and have them matched to the student. It can be used with e-portfolio systems such as Pebble Pad and can be used as a standalone repository, negating the need for other specialist learning tools.
iPlacement has also been adapted for professional and management placement and has been succesfully supplied to business agencies operating in this high presure environment. This vesion of iPlacement allows for CV's and resumes to be uploaded and stored and is ideal for interim staffing and recruitment businesses.
Please contact us for details; you may be amazed to find out just how much value this product can be to you for so little outlay and how much it can add to your contact management. Once iPlacement is configured it is very simple to administer yourself. Please contact us and we can provide you with a demo site login.

iProfile

iProfile is the Individual Learning Records and e-Assessment tool aimed at making life easier for any establishment that has to record and assess student progress in a Further Education learning environment. iProfile has been developed from the ground up by the needs of the practitioners who register and assess students in a real world work environment.
iProfile captures student data and ties this to both the ILR and the learning aims database and allows capture of field based assessments for use on the learner journey through, typically, the apprenticeship process.
Individual Learner Records and recording are a constant chore and require masses of often repeated data entry and then in most cases re-entry. Just a short analysis of your amounts of data entry creates a simple ROI for using iProfile, even if you have purchased a sophisticated enrolment platform.
As an example; most apprenticeship applications take at least Eight Individual forms. This is reduced to an on-line form and for those in remote locations - a synchronised off-line application which looks like the on-line service. Students can register simply for the interest and then at a later date, complete a full registration along with the student assessor which means all data collections are completed at source. Personal details, such as change of circumstances can be updated at any time by the student and or college administrator.

iPilot
iPilot is the next generation of the highly popular Learning And Content Management System - the Intelligent Shell System (ISS). This is a very simple to use yet powerful Learning And Content Management System (LCMS). It is ideal for businesses and organisations that don't need sophisticated college style course management but still require users to be monitored, supported, tracked and alerted to maximise online and blended e-Learning potential. The iPilot platform is also used for delivery of e-Induction, e-Assessment and e-CPD. Variants include off-the-shelf versions for specific industry sectors and applications, such as health and customer care and there is a low-cost version available even for the SME market.
This website is built on an iPILOT system.
iPLATO

iPLATO is the next generation version. Designed to be used on Institution VLE/LMS's it is fully SCORM compliant and features our unique find4learn navigation system which allows the student to instantly track where they are within the learning module, without moving from the page.
iPLATO contains uptodate referencing information about various styles - including Harvard and now features guidance on referencing with modern social media.
It is available on a campus licence and at special rates for schools and smaller bodies.
iPathway

In the history of the Virtual Learning Environment of Learning Management System; we are perhaps now on the third genaration of platform.
Some of the newer platforms are taking on more of an e-portfolio approach and some focus more on the Social or Content Management aspects of the chosen application than specific formal learning .
Our view is shaped by what our clients desire but we do have a wealth of experience that makes this choice a lot easier to make.
We can advise on technicalities and can supply consultation only if this is all that's required.
We are at our best when we are supplying an overall solution that meets the requirements; usually something that must be highly configurable - both from a marketing perspective and also a course management and trainer perspective.
This means that a platform would be modular and feature a number of plug-ins designed to support ease of use with internal and external users and also back-office staff, trainers and administrators.
Examples of these plug-in modules are Records Management, Course Management, Licence Management, (for the tracking and supply of courses externally) Personal Development Planning, Continual Personal Development (CPD), Prior Learning Recognition and Assessment; all along with diagnostic assessment modules which are not normally included within the requirements of an e-learning platform.
Other provisons such as shopping cart and payment provisons; multiple language support, specific web services and Single Sign on Modules are all options that can make a VLE a genuine success.

If you add up all these requirements they all create the need for a sophisticated product that can fill in all those gaps. We've called this solution iPathway - we've now provided this to a number of organisations both large and small and with and without some of the modules described. This just demonstrates the flexibility of iPathway.
Intelligent Shell System
The Intelligent Shell System is the predecessor to the iPilot LCMS. It was very successful and still is in use by many Councils, Businesses and Health Trusts, today.
Early adopters were NewLook and Center Parcs.

e-APEL
APEL - Accreditation Prior Experiential Learning . e-APEL was developed initially for a JISC funded project to allow accreditation of students with work based learning in Higher Education. A number of other universities purchased the product and are still using the tool tdoay. The tool creates a process framework for evidence gathering and student tutor interaction and in doing so maximises the tutor teaching time.
Paperwork based Prior Learning initiatives normally consume lots of paper and in doing so are prone to error; with on-line systems all the infomation is gathered in a single area allowing for the exercise to be formative as opposed to the summative process of apply and if the assessment fails; appeal.
This product has now been superseded by the iProfile product, which allows for more flexibility in the entire process for both Higher and Further Education; what's more iProfile features in-built Continual Personal Development - CPD and Individual Learning Plans co-existing with creation and maintenance of Individualised Learner Records, whilst allowing for field based assessments to take place.

e360 Feedback
Because our professional development is important to us, nowadays we'd like more than just our boss to provide feedback on our performance.
360-degree feedback, commonly known as, peer appraisal or 360 degree appraisal in some forward thinking organisations, provides the developing professional with valuable all-round feedback which is not only more objective, but delivered from several different perspectives. Your own self-assessment is compared against feedback from not just your line manager, but that of your colleagues and subordinates as well as even your clients or customers.
There's no better way to improve on your behaviour, attitude, overall performance and ultimately your professionalism as a whole. Why delay, start today by gathering all the feedback you need to move forwards and upwards in your life and your career. Once your feedback had been collected, you will be provided with a full report and you will have access to all of our on-line resources to learn how to develop even further.
PLATO : Preventing Plagiarism
The University designed plagiarism tutorial
Plagiarism is a hot topic in both the specialist and the general media, not least because IT (and the Web in particular) offers students more opportunities to plagiarise than ever before. In response to the need to educate students on what Plagiarism is and how to avoid it, the University of Derby developed a software product called PLATO and it is now being used by many Universities and Colleges throughout the UK.
