Andrew Hartley Director
Andrew is the Director of Innovation for Learning his main focus is to lead the University's engagement with businesses and organisations who want to gain the benefits from impleneting e-learning and e-assessment solutions. |

John Leighton
Senior Project Manager
John has held development and project management roles in Central and Local government, Industry and Financial Services and now he leads client projects for Innovation for Learning.
Development projects have spanned a range of technologies including Linux, IBM Mid-range and Windows environments and a range of application types including large-scale banking applications, rapid application development of Client facing applications and custom designed learning applications.
John has successfully managed and delivered projects ranging in size up to £1.5M. |

Professor Don Mackenzie e-Assessment Research Manager
Don has 17 years experience of e-assessment development and delivery on a university-wide basis and for commercial and educational clients including public examination boards.
From 1999 to 2005 Don was head of the Centre for Interactive Assessment Development (CIAD) at the University of Derby which continues to provide consultancy on e-assessment production, delivery and results reporting.
Don is currently the e-Assessment Research Manager undertaking bespoke e-assessment production and consultancy for clients in commerce, the NHS and in education. Current NHS applications centre upon the production of scored formative e-assessments in the areas of prescription, administration and management of medicines that are suitable for post-qualification training, continuing professional development and competency assurance. |

Scott Wilson Senior e-Learning Developer
Scott graduated from the University of Derby in 2002 with a degree in Information Systems. Scott became involved in online media when on his placement year in the University’s Graphics and Web Team. During his placement he became increasingly interested in both Graphic Design and Website Programming, with a particular emphasis on Content Management Systems. Due to the success of the projects he completed during his placement year, Scott was asked to work part-time whilst completing his degree with the offer of full time employment on completion.
Since then, Scott has managed the development on both internal and commercial projects, working with international corporate clients such as Heinz and SMBC Japanese Bank, Center Parcs, Derbyshire Building Society and Pendragon.
In 2007 he gained the PRINCE 2 Project Management qualification. More recently he has successfully achieved the accredited year long Leading Managers Course run internally at the University. This has allowed him to develop his managerial and leadership skills which have resulted in positive benefits to his own role and the support and direction he is able to offer the wider team and their Client’s. |

Gordon Alexander
Senior Systems Architect
Gordon has over eighteen years experience in software design and a background of producing robust applications. Many of his projects have been multi million pound, mission critical, systems for blue chip companies such as The Royal Bank of Scotland, Eagle Star and British Gas. In recent years he has been architecting, developing, supporting and providing consultation on Virtual Learning Environments, Course Management Systems and e-Learning Resources. |

Michèle Walker
Business Development Manager
Michèle currently has the role of Sales and Business Development Manager for the Innovation for Learning. Prior to joining Innovation for Learning, Michèle has held various Sales and Marketing positions including a 5 year secondment in the USA to launch a satellite office in Princeton, New Jersey, and finally leading up to the position of Business Development Director for MDS Pharma Services based in Lyon, France. More recently, Michèle has settled in Derby and has been focussing on providing e-learning solutions to the corporate, healthcare and education sectors. |

Craig Fisk
Game Based Learning Artist
Craig is a placement student from Derby University studying the BA Hons Computer Games Modelling and Animation course. He has been working with digital art, graphics and animation all through his academic career and is skilled in the use of both 3D and 2D applications such as Autodesk Maya, Photoshop, Flash and illustrator. |

Andrew Allen
Game Based Learning Programmer
Andrew is currently a 3rd year placement student on the BSc Hons Computer Games Programming course, and is currently working at Innovation for Learning as a games based e-Learning Flash Programmer. He has been programming for 5 years now, and is skilled in programming languages such as C++, java, Assembly language, and Action Script. |
